European Highlights: Rome and Vatican City

Rome, a very ancient city with blends of the obvious ancient elements and modern twists. One key highlight being the Colosseum. With construction starting 70 AD, it has mostly survived test of time. With efforts to rebuild some parts have befallen time, it remains almost 2000 years later (mostly) intact. A highlight of the mighty Roman Empire and their incredible design / building techniques.

European Highlights: Pag, Lake Bled and Ljubljana

Starting off on Pag, although not my favourite place we visited during the tour, it did however offer up some memorable sunsets and landscapes. Off the coast off Croatia, across the sea via ferry it is mainly a party island. And being a bit unwell, I did manage to go for a bit of a wander to one of the stoney beaches.

From Pag, we travelled north en route to Ljubljana for a short one-nighter. The day was perfect, a glorious Eastern European one. We got dropped off at one end of the beautiful lake, the scene was set.

The only photo out of about 4 taken, my favourite. Enjoying the scenery.

From Lake Bled we continued onto Ljubljana for one night and then onto Austria - Tirol in the Kirchdorf region.
