101

I will be launching (v soon) Film Photography 101. 1 on 1 Tuition covering everything (mostly) about 35mm stills photography.

Everything from camera lens selection, films, camera setup, operation and most importantly, how to make pictures. With hands on practical teaching, sprinkled with theoretical know-how, to set or get you on (the right) track. Be it your first camera (#veryexcited) or you're switching from digital to film.

*This will be mainly focused on street / fine art photography. Looking for the artistic / unseen in the everyday seen (/ scene). In my town of Brisbane, happy to travel to either Gold or Sunshine Coasts.

"Back in the olden days, I use to shoot digital." They (I) might say.

Stay tuned and watch this interweb space.

Have any suggestions, queries, any think you would like to know? Please leave a friendly comment down way below this post and I'll be sure to get back to you :)

O'seas.

Last week I received my passport. Excited! Today I booked a 28 day Europe trip! Which covers 13 countries, including London (UK), France, Switzerland, Prague, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, Germany, Poland, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium (bonus). My first time traveling overseas/ outside of Australia, so I thought I'd do it properly!

Assisting me in my decision was the very lovely and helpful Leisa from Student Flights Adelaide St Brisbane office. Whilst attending todays travel Expo at the Convention Centre. Discussing options (I had kind of already decided which tour to go on) but a final decision was made. Getting all the details about the places to visit and her insights and personal experiences. Thanks Leisa! #excited

The food, history, culture. So diffrrent! There will be many photos and maybe a travel log :)

Essential planning / thought and story provoking.

Essential planning / thought and story provoking.

Histotical places, alps, snow and course wining 'n' dining.

The plan.

The plan.

Process.

For me photography is about the process. The technique. Application. How can I achieve this result or perhaps "I wonder what will happen if I" or use this element in this way. What result will I get? Learning, applying. The camera, the scene, lens and other 'tools' used.

The process is just as important as the result. A series of thoughts, processes and applications.

One of my recent images, "Essence of Bird". A trip out to an industrial area near the Port of Brisbane / Airport. I had often been fascinated with the polarisation effect / reflection from a rear view mirror. My natural curiosity / analytical mind led me to this.

Shooting the mirror in bright sun beaming through the warehouses (main stage) for my image. A flock of birds rummaging about for worms or whatever they could find edible amongst the grass rubble. This particular one is a re-frame (shooting conditions limited my framing) from an original, something I seldom do. All colours, everything else is as is.

A kind of double exposure, I guess. Yes. A double exposure. Once again, fuelling my love of the often randomness of film/ vintage cameras.

Enjoy.
