Stuck on wood.

My next project involves wood. My fascination maybe mostly due to my lastname. And or a love for raw materials. This is only the beginning.

A trip to my local Bunnings, the purchase of some FSC pine ply (forest safe council). Sourced from a renewable forest.

Simple wood background with a pictured on the front.

With a few ideas in my head of final product. Stay tuned...

"We're getting the band together..."

A famous (or infamous) quote from a classic film "Blues Brothers". Well sort of.

It's been some time since I've officially captured a portrait. This Sat I have the pleasure of shooting a local (here in Brisbane) Band Lunar Sands. Mixed infusion of Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Nick Cave.

My choice of format? Film of course. Shooting a roll of Cinestill 800 (tungsten balanced low light) and either Fuji Natura 1600 Colour (oddly enough) or Kodak Portra 800. All 3 of which I've never shot with.

This is just the beginning of something new for me. Stay tuned.

The next instalment...

Cinestill 800 Film + Canon A1 / Canon 50mm FD f/1.8

Cinestill 800 Film + Canon A1 / Canon 50mm FD f/1.8

After receiving some free samples of film from ffs.org (filmforsale), one roll that for some time now I have always wanted to shoot with. Let me just say that I'm a tad excited (overwhelmed) to be shooting with this stuff. Basically it's cinema motion picture film converted by The Brothers Wright (2 dudes from the US) who make wonderful pictures *stills.

After seeing many samples of what this stuff can do, I am looking forward to shooting some low light portraitures with it!

Featuring a hand-made leather camera strap from the very talented Eleisha Nylund from Chocolate Brownie Leather (love it!).

And I also look forward to shooting more portraits in the not-to distant future.
